Arsenal 1-1 Bolton (FA Cup)

Kolo Toure's diving header cancelled out Kevin Nolan's opener and denied Bolton progress in the FA Cup. In this match Bolton made do with what they had in the most rugged manner and Kevin Davies soldiered on despite needing an injection in his foot at half-time.
There was no sign of numbness as the visitors went ahead with an adroit goal.

Nolan passed to Nicolas Anelka, who was coming into the move for the second time, and the former Arsenal striker sent play to Davies on the right. He drilled the ball across the area and Nolan converted at the far post.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger:
"It was a bit unfortunate that we went 1-0 down as in the second half we were on top of the game."

"We are used to going behind here at The Emirates but we always find the resources to come back."

"But today we lacked the ability to score a second goal and kill the game off - we had the chances. But Bolton's keeper and defenders played very well."

Blackburn 0-2 Arsenal;

Arsenal made light of the 12th-minute dismissal of Gilberto to deservedly beat Blackburn, thanks to goals from Kolo Toure and Thierry Henry.

Kolo Toure nodded them ahead nine minutes before the break and Thierry Henry secured the points with a vicious strike 19 minutes from time. Rovers had their chances but they could hardly complain about the result. Arsenal were up against it all day but conjured their third win in eight days in this part of the country and their fifth victory in seven North-West trips this season.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger:

"We were under pressure and we showed we can resist that and still play good football.
"We showed solidarity, good technique and some wonderful movement. "The sending off looked harsh, although Gilberto reacted when he shouldn't.
